Complex Master-Slave Enhanced Optical Coherence Microscopy

Camard et al., 2024

Researchers have developed a special imaging tool that can quickly and accurately locate and capture detailed, three-dimensional images of very small biological samples—even when these samples are surrounded by a much larger amount of liquid.

They tested this new instrument by imaging tiny artificial samples and pig eggs placed in a solution. The results show that the tool can efficiently find and zoom in on small samples with high precision. This approach could be very useful for examining delicate biological samples that are kept in nutrient-rich liquids, without losing image quality or spending too much time swapping equipment around.
